Andrew Fraser - President COU
When Andrew was in high school he asked his parents if they would let him have a dog. After much discussion, his parents let Andrew adopt a dog from the Humane Society. While looking at ways to provide a contained area in the yard for the dog, Andrew had the opportunity to work for the local franchise of a pet containment fence company and also working Part-time for Flower Valley Veterinary Clinic where Andrew met several obedience trainers that soon became his mentors and professional colleagues.
Andrew apprenticed with these trainers for a period of two years during which time he attended the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers to build his foundation and expand his knowledge of dog training, canine physiology and health, behavior and advanced training techniques. After returning from National K9, Andrew founded Canine Obedience Unlimited in October of 2004. He continued his professional development through training seminars, and teaching classes for Petsmart® (White Flint) where he also received additonal training and certification.
Andrew wanted to develop a program for his clients that offered a wide exposure to different techniques of obedience training. He subsequently completed one of the most advanced schools for remote collar training in the U.S. Here, Andrew learned the “No Limitations” method of remote collar training, one of the most effective methods of dog training in the world. Andrew is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals as well as the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Andrew also is a recognized AKC Canine Good Citizen® test evaluator.
